Summer is volleyball tournament season, a great way to spend a day or weekend out in the fresh air. Below are summer tournaments that we regulary enter teams for each year. Keep an eye on the club calendar as dates for these popular events are usually announced months in advance.

Whitfield (Bath) is one of the big tournaments of the summer circuit and not to be missed. It is held on the rugby grounds in the centre of Bath surrounded by the spectacular old buildings of the city. Basingstoke Volleyball club have attended this event for many years. The Whitefield tournament in Bath is on the 24th & 25th of July. Camping Info Basically the price is £25 per tent per night. This includes 2 people and a car per tent. Additional people are £4 per night.
For those going alone it would work out considerably cheaper if you can share a tent so can you let me know if you are prepared to do so.
Regarding camping, we usually stay at Newton Mill Campsite, a few miles to the West of Bath on Friday and Saturday night. Traditionally, we pitch tents on the Friday evening and then make our way to the Globe pub for food and to discuss tactics for the next day (and to have a lemonade or two). On Saturday we either have a barbecue or, as we've done for the last couple of years, have
a take-away curry delivered to the campsite. Consequently, there isn't really much need to take cooking stuff other than to make a brew in the morning. More info here: http://www.newtonmillpark.co.uk |

Anyone interested in playing in the Richmond Tournament? The dates are Sat 29th to Mon 31st August, camping is available from 6pm on the Friday evening.The tournament is played as a series of 6-a-side competitions for men, women’s and mixed teams.
